Folio

Deadline to teacher is Monday, 20 Oct 2008.  (TQA deadline is 22 Oct.)

Folio contains three pieces of work completed during the course, chosen from at least two modules.  You may include print and non-print texts.

USE YOUR TQA ID CODE, NOT YOUR NAME.

TQA Folio Guidelines (scroll down to Assessment Guidelines)

Each piece is accompanied by a context statement that is headed to clearly identify it as one of the three required forms.  Each context statement explains the particular focus and gives the assessor some understanding of your aims.

The three pieces are:

  • one creative - an imaginative or original text which may draw on one or more genre and may include innovations on texts, adaptations, pastiche, parody -      eg opening of a crime novel, new scene for play/documentary

  • one analytical, investigative or interpretative - a text which analyses, synthesises and/or evaluates -                  eg Telling Truths essay, film/book review

  • one personal reflective response - a text which clearly reveals your voice and identifies personal understandings in response to any aspect of the course - eg project journal, response to study text.

Pieces are publishing standard for the chosen forms, eg script includes conventions for characters' dialogue and stage/ camera directions, feature article is word processed/set out in columns.

Length:  3000 words (excluding context statements).

Students select pieces from their Work Files and keep their files.

Students submit two copies:  one for TQA, one for teacher.

Assessment:  Criteria 7 and 10

External assessment will be compared with the teacher's assessment.  Discrepancies will go to a third marker.
